About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Data Scientist to join our client's dynamic team in a hybrid or fully remote capacity. This role is pivotal in supporting the final stages of the clinical data pipeline, transforming complex raw datasets into analysis-ready formats that meet regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous eye for detail, be technically versatile, and have a passion for delivering high-quality clinical data. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Operations, Data Platform Engineering, and AI/ML specialists, to ensure data accuracy, traceability, and compliance across all outputs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful healthcare research and innovation, working within a forward-thinking organization committed to advancing clinical science and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Educational background should include a BSc or MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. Candidates should have between 2 to 5+ years of experience in clinical data science, statistical programming, or clinical data management within pharmaceutical, biotech, or related environments. Technical proficiency in SAS, R, Python, and SQL is essential, with familiarity with version control systems like Git preferred. Experience working with CDISC SDTM and ADaM standards is highly desirable, along with an understanding of oncology endpoints such as RECIST and survival analysis. Knowledge of real-world data (RWD) and NLP-derived outputs is a plus. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Responsibilities
Data Transformation & Delivery: Convert raw, manually abstracted, and AI-processed clinical data into standardized formats such as CDISC SDTM/ADaM or client-specific models. Build analysis-ready datasets from diverse sources including electronic medical records, electronic data capture systems, and internal abstraction tools.
Statistical Programming & Reporting: Develop and generate tables, listings, and figures for clinical study reports and interim analyses using SAS, R, or Python. Ensure outputs are accurate, reproducible, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Data Integrity & Quality Control: Perform comprehensive data cleaning, validation, and discrepancy investigations to distinguish between genuine clinical complexities and upstream data errors. Maintain high standards of data quality throughout the process.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with engineering and data platform teams to automate workflows for data cleaning and validation. Act as an internal customer and early tester for new data infrastructure tools, providing feedback to improve system capabilities.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation including data specifications, derivation logic, reviewer guides, and Define.xml files to support audits and regulatory submissions.
Ad Hoc & Exploratory Analysis: Assist internal and external stakeholders with data queries, exploratory analyses, and insights that demonstrate the value and capabilities of the data platform.
Ethical & Compliant Data Management: Adhere to all applicable privacy, security, and compliance regulations such as HIPAA. Promote ethical handling of sensitive clinical data, ensuring confidentiality and integrity at all times.
