About You and The Role

We are looking for a Digital Merchandising Manager to own and evolve how products, use cases, and campaigns are surfaced within the Zipline app.

This role will transform in-app merchandising into a strategic growth lever. You will define the merchandising strategy, use data and customer insights to inform prioritization, and ensure that in-app experiences are timely, relevant, and aligned with broader marketing efforts.

You will work cross-functionally with marketing, insights, and product teams to connect performance data, customer behavior, and cultural trends into a clear merchandising roadmap. This role balances strategy with execution and requires someone who is comfortable driving impact in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Do

• Own the in-app merchandising strategy, including featured placements, collections, promotional moments, and seasonal campaigns.

• Use performance data, customer trends, and purchase behavior to inform merchandising priorities and optimizations.

• Drive initiatives to increase discovery, engagement, average order value, and expanded use cases within the app.

• Develop and manage a merchandising calendar that aligns with product launches, lifecycle campaigns, and broader marketing moments.

• Lead testing and experimentation efforts to continuously improve in-app merchandising performance.

• Partner with product and engineering teams to improve merchandising tools, workflows, and capabilities over time.

• Establish reporting frameworks and KPIs to measure success and identify growth opportunities.

• Ensure in-app experiences reflect Zipline’s evolving product offerings and marketing priorities.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years experience spanning internal comms and/or executive comms plus high-stakes experiences (executive briefings, customer innovation centers, investor/partner visits, operationally heavy event programs etc.)

• Experience advising senior leaders and shaping narrative. Exceptional writing, editing and deck making; ability to draft CEO-quality notes and distill complexity into simple narratives.

• Strong judgment handling sensitive topics with discretion and clarity.

• Operational rigor: ability to design repeatable systems, manage cross-functional workflows, and keep execution predictable.

• Confident facilitator with strong presence in front of executives, investors, and VIPs.

• High taste level and attention to detail; you build experiences and comms that feel premium and intentional.

• Proven ability to turn complex technology or operational work into concise, compelling narratives that resonate with senior external stakeholders.

• Experience running tight, high stakes events or visits with zero room for sloppiness: you know how to prepare teams, control the flow, and react quickly when plans change.

• Strong operational discipline with the ability to design repeatable processes, manage workflows across functions, and keep execution predictable.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with strong presence and judgment in front of executives, investors, and VIPs.

• High taste level and attention to detail. You know how to build experiences that feel premium, intentional, and consistent with a world class brand.

• Comfort working in a fast moving, scaling environment where priorities shift and visitor demand fluctuates unpredictably.

• A mindset focused on clarity, efficiency, and lifting the burden off internal teams while elevating Zipline’s external narrative.

What Else You Need to Know

This role is based at our office in South San Francisco, CA.

The starting cash range for this role is $120,000-150,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
