This role is a senior leadership position responsible for directing global medical communications and publications strategy in support of medical affairs and product launch priorities. The Director, Medical Communications will oversee the creation and dissemination of high-quality scientific content, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and compliance standards. The position leads global publication planning, congress strategy, and launch-critical evidence communication, translating complex clinical data into clear, actionable messages for internal and external stakeholders. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Commercial, and external agencies, to maintain a consistent scientific narrative and drive measurable impact. Success requires strategic thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and strong leadership skills in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. The position plays a critical role in shaping scientific exchange, enhancing visibility, and supporting evidence-based adoption of therapies globally.

Accountabilities:

• Lead global publication planning, including development, execution, and oversight of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and congress outputs.

• Develop and maintain a Scientific Platform & Lexicon to ensure consistent messaging, terminology, and narrative across all communications and publications.

• Drive congress strategy, including narrative development, data package preparation, internal review governance, and post-congress dissemination.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate evidence into medical education and scientific enablement materials while maintaining compliance.

• Oversee vendor management, budgets, and agency performance, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.

• Implement scalable processes, SOPs, and training programs to enhance quality, compliance, and efficiency across publication and communications activities.

• Capture and synthesize insights from advisory boards, publication reviews, and congress debriefs to inform strategic planning and evidence dissemination.

Requirements:

• Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or APN) required.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Medical Communications, Publications, or related functions within biotech, pharma, or agency environments, including leadership of global publication plans.

• Demonstrated success managing cross-functional scientific narrative development and publication operations in milestone-driven environments.

• Proven ability to build and govern a Scientific Platform/Lexicon for consistent global dissemination.

• Expertise in medical writing, data interpretation, compliant review processes, and congress execution.

• Strong project management skills, with ability to handle multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.

• Experience in insight generation and translating advisory board/KOL input into actionable strategies.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Preferred: Experience in cell therapies (TCR, CAR-T), complex analyses, and supporting product launch evidence strategies.
