Newsroom Fellowship

The New York Times Fellowship is a dynamic, one-year paid work program aimed at cultivating the next generation of top journalists. Fellows will hear from speakers, have training opportunities, gain feedback and participate as full-time journalists across our report. The fellowship targets up-and-coming journalists of any age. The program replaces our newsroom summer internship.

Local Investigations Fellowship

The Local Investigations Fellowship gives journalists the opportunity to produce signature investigative work focused on their state or region that will be published by The Times and made available for free for co-publication by local newsrooms.

Times Corps

The New York Times Corps is a program focused on cultivating careers in journalism. The program is designed for students who would particularly benefit from access to mentorship or career guidance from people in the field, including students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and students who attend colleges or universities that do not have an established record of sending alumni to The Times.

Newsroom Editing Residency

The New York Times Editing Residency is committed to helping the next generation of editors hone the skills needed to be leaders in the field. Resident editors will have at least three years’ professional journalism experience. In this paid two-year program, we will provide extensive training and support as editors work on Times journalism from desks across our newsroom.

Graphics Intensive

The Graphics Intensive is a program specifically tied to the Graphics desk and designed to cultivate skills and judgment in the creation of visual stories. It is best suited to those who are passionate about developing their skills in data visualization, mapmaking, 3D modeling or information design.

The Times offers enriching 10-week paid internships in a variety of departments outside of the newsroom, including technology, advertising, marketing, data, and product and design.
