Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Embedded)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (in-person)
Job Type: Full Time (W-2)

Overview:

Half the world still doesn't have stable Internet – want to play a critical role in changing that? Beamlink builds entire cellular networks in a matter of weeks, not years. These are built of easy-to-set-up cells, called Bentocells, which address the historic bottleneck preventing carriers from expanding beyond cities. Our dynamic engineering team designs these in-house along with the firmware, software, and network architectures that make them run.

Role Description:

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer (Embedded) with 2–5 years of experience to join our team full-time. You will contribute directly to the design and development of Beamlink’s next-generation cellular infrastructure products, working across hardware, firmware, and embedded systems. This role involves hands-on work with PCB design, board bring-up, embedded Linux systems, and deployment infrastructure for real-world networking equipment operating in demanding environments.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute directly to Altium schematic capture and PCB layout for digital, power, RF, and mixed-signal systems

• Select components and design subsystems for embedded and telecommunications hardware platforms

• Perform board bring-up, validation, debugging, and hardware troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and related lab equipment

• Collaborate with subject matter experts across RF, embedded software, FPGA, and manufacturing disciplines to improve product reliability and manufacturability

• Develop firmware and embedded software components in Python, Bash, and related languages for hardware management and deployment automation

• Work with Linux-based embedded systems and on-device scripting for provisioning, monitoring, diagnostics, and automation

• Recommend and implement improvements to existing hardware designs, power systems, and embedded infrastructure

• Support manufacturing test, validation, and deployment efforts for Bentocell systems

• Participate in design reviews and contribute to system architecture decisions across hardware and software domains

• Work with AI-assisted engineering tools and software agents to improve development efficiency and supervised debugging workflows

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

• 2–5 years of experience in embedded systems or electronics engineering

• Experience designing PCBs in Altium Designer, including schematic capture and layout

• Strong understanding of digital electronics, power systems, and embedded hardware design principles

• Experience with board bring-up and hardware debugging

• Familiarity with embedded Linux environments and scripting using Python and Bash

• Experience working with microcontrollers and embedded processors

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in both hardware and software domains

• Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced startup environment

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Yocto-based embedded Linux systems

• Familiarity with OTA (Over-the-Air) update systems such as hawkBit and RAUC

• Experience with NXP i.MX processors such as the i.MX95 family

• Familiarity with Ethernet infrastructure, including RJ45, PoE systems, and SFP fiber interface

• Experience working with SDR or telecommunications hardware platforms

• Familiarity with FCC Part 15, CE, or related electronics certification procedures

• Experience working with RF systems or cellular networking equipment

• Exposure to manufacturing validation and production testing workflows

• Familiarity with Docker, Linux system administration, or remote fleet management tools

Salary/Benefits:

• Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience

• Stock options

• Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (free)

• Life and Disability Insurance (free)

• 401k benefits

• Flexible work schedule, including the ability to work from home on certain days

• Unlimited paid time off

• Additional commuter stipend if Uber/Lyft is required to reach the office

• Opportunity for growth as the company and production function scale
