Embedded OS Field Engineer


About the job

Nordic Semiconductor is seeking an Embedded OS (Linux, AOSP) Field Engineer to develop our embedded OS SDKs written in Rust (Linux) and Kotlin/C++ (Android/AOSP). You’ll be working with cutting-edge hardware companies as they integrate for the first time or adopt new platform features. We’re especially interested in people who are experienced in one operating system and curious and capable of learning the other.

You will be joining the Memfault team within Nordic Semiconductor.

Key responsibilities

• Improve our embedded Linux and Android/AOSP SDKs to support a wide range of IoT devices and distributions

• Partner with sales and customer success teams to design solutions for prospects and customers to solve real-world business problems

• Work directly with embedded software engineers at cutting-edge hardware companies to support platform integration

• Build and improve reference examples, SDK documentation, and automated tests

• Ship code early and often to customers, seeing millions of devices in the wild running your code

Qualification and skills

• 2+ years of experience writing C/C++, Rust, or Kotlin code on embedded Linux or AOSP devices

• Experience with build systems such as Yocto, Buildroot, Soong, Bazel

• Comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical partners

• Organized and reliable, with strong follow-through and attention to detail

Interested in automated testing, CI/CD, and improving developer workflows

• The salary range for this role is (110.000 - 187.000 USD). Exact salary is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience.
