We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer to lead the development and enhancement of K–8 science curriculum within a dynamic digital learning environment. In this role, you will design and refine engaging digital curriculum products and supplemental resources that support teachers and students alike. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, manage external partners, and leverage AI-driven tools to streamline instructional design processes. This position offers the opportunity to shape impactful science learning experiences, improve instructional quality, and support educators in delivering standards-aligned content that meets diverse learner needs. Your work will directly influence curriculum effectiveness and student outcomes.
Accountabilities:
• Serve as the instructional design expert for K–8 science products, guiding development, content enhancements, and maintenance.
• Develop and implement agentic content tools for science curriculum, including lessons, interactives, media, and supplemental materials.
• Manually author and edit curriculum content to ensure alignment with instructional goals and digital platform requirements.
• Create and maintain protocols for curriculum-aligned lesson presentations, graphics, and media assets.
• Manage contractors and collaborate with external vendors to scale development initiatives beyond AI-driven capabilities.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of instructional content and provide actionable feedback.
• Coordinate with managers and stakeholders to track project progress, ensure timely delivery, and troubleshoot challenges.
Requirements:
• Minimum 4 years of K–8 science teaching experience with a strong background in science.
• Expert knowledge of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and experience developing standards-aligned lessons.
• Proven experience designing and authoring K–8 science curriculum, including tasks, teacher materials, and supplemental resources; high school experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in leveraging technology and AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Claude) to enhance content development and instructional design.
• Familiarity with OpenSciEd curriculum and digital education platforms.
• Strong project management skills, collaboration abilities, and attention to detail in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to instructional challenges.
