Responsibilities
• Design and verify innovative optical systems for high-performance DWDM transponders, enhancing fiber optic communication technology.
• Conduct comprehensive system-level and component-level testing to validate optical designs and functionality.
• Automate experimental processes to optimize system performance and improve efficiency in testing regimens.
• Analyze test data meticulously to troubleshoot design issues and ensure quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively integrate optical systems into product offerings.
• Document verification processes, results, and key insights to support ongoing development and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior team members to cultivate a collaborative engineering environment focused on innovation.
• Lead initiatives to implement best practices in optical system design and testing methodologies across the team.
Qualifications
You Have:
• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field, or Master's with 5+ years' experience.
• Strong understanding of DWDM and coherent optical communication systems.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and testing.
• Experience in testing and validating fiber optic communication components (e.g., coherent transponders, EDFA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a critical thinking mindset.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
It would be nice if you also had:
• Experience with machine learning and large language models (LLM).
• Background in optical testing and measurement instruments.
• Knowledge of database management (SQL, NoSQL, or time series databases).
