JOB TITLE: QA Analyst
Job Description – Quality Analyst (QA) | Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O)
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Analyst (QA) with strong hands-on testing expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of overall QA experience, including functional and end-to-end ERP testing, and a solid track record in test planning, execution, defect management, and test automation in RSAT. This role partners closely with business SMEs, functional consultants, developers, and release managers to ensure high-quality D365 F&O enhancements, integrations, and releases.
Key Responsibilities
1) D365 F&O Functional & Process Testing
• Analyse business requirements/user stories and translate them into detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts for D365 F&O processes.
• Execute end-to-end testing across D365 F&O modules (as applicable), validating configurations, customisations, security roles, and business workflows.
• Perform smoke, sanity, functional, integration, regression, and UAT support testing for releases and hotfixes.
2) Test Management, Evidence & Traceability
• Build and maintain test plans and test suites in a test management tool such as Azure DevOps Test Plans (or equivalent), ensuring traceability from requirements → test cases → defects → closure.
• Maintain high-quality test artefacts and execution evidence to support release readiness and auditability.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in QA documentation and test assets.
3) Defect Management & Quality Governance
• Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects; participate in defect triage with cross-functional teams; re-test fixes and validate closure.
• Provide clear reporting on test progress, defect trends, and release risk to stakeholders.
4) Test Automation (RSAT + other tools)
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites using RSAT
• Use Task Recorder assets to create/maintain automated business process tests.
• Manage parameterisation via Excel parameter files and integrate executions/results with Azure DevOps.
• Support building regression packs and execution cycles to reduce manual regression effort.
5) Collaboration & Release Support
• Work closely with functional consultants, developers, and business users to clarify expected behaviour and validate outcomes during sprint and release cycles.
• Support release validation activities and ensure regression coverage for periodic updates and production deployments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• 5–7 years of overall Quality Assurance experience, including manual and automated testing.
• Proven experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) (or Dynamics AX with strong F&O exposure).
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC/STLC, and test design techniques.
• Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, ALM, etc.).
• Experience with test automation tools, including but not limited to RSAT.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
• RSAT implementation experience: building BPM libraries, aligning test cases in Azure DevOps, and maintaining RSAT packs for regression runs.
• Experience testing integrations between D365 F&O and external systems (APIs, middleware, data platforms, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ceremonies and working in sprint-based delivery.
• Basic SQL/data validation experience for backend verification and reconciliation
General Job Requirements (Quality Analyst – Standard Expectations)
• Ability to plan, design, and execute test plans aligned to requirements and quality standards.
• Ability to identify, isolate, document, and track defects, and verify fixes.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to drive quality outcomes.
• Strong documentation discipline: test evidence, release sign-offs, defect summaries, and quality metrics.
• Proactive mindset towards continuous improvement of QA processes, templates, and automation coverage.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems / Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
