Ciklum is looking for a Senior Embedded Test Engineer to join our team full-time in Slovakia.

About the role:

As a Senior Embedded Test Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. The role combines software focused test automation with practical hands‑on work in an electronics lab environment. You will be responsible for maintaining reliable test setups, supporting engineers during feature validation, and developing automated tests for embedded firmware.

In this role, you will work in a modern and diverse technical environment, directly involved in automated testing of advanced embedded systems. You will cooperate closely with an international team of firmware, electronics, and test engineers, and have opportunities to actively shape the test infrastructure and workflows, contributing to the continuous improvement of our testing processes.

Responsibilities:

Test Automation & Development

• Develop automated test cases for new firmware features (primarily in C#)

• Extend the simulation- and hardware-based test suites

• Support developers in running automated tests

• Should enhance monitoring and stability of the automated test environments

Testing Infrastructure Maintenance

• Maintain and troubleshoot existing hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) test setups

• React quickly to malfunctions in test environments and restore test availability

• Maintain and improve CI pipeline components and test control infrastructure

• Manage and should troubleshoot Windows-/WSL-based test PCs

Embedded Electronics & Lab Work

• Work hands‑on with embedded electronic devices during test execution

• Connect and configure lab power supplies, electronic loads, and measurement tools

• Should understand wiring diagrams and ensure correct setup of electronic test jigs with help of electronic engineers

• Monitor device behavior during automated and manual test runs

CI/CD & Tooling

• Adapt and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)

• Work with build and test systems, containers, and automation frameworks

• Run and manage unit tests in CMake workflows

• Improve automation reliability and reporting

Requirements:

• Solid C# knowledge for writing automated tests

• Basic understanding of C++ to read and adjust small portions if needed

• Senior-level CI/CD experience (Docker, Windows environments, test frameworks)

• Experience with UART/serial interfaces and reading debug messages

• Familiarity with lab equipment such as power supplies

• Basic Linux shell and scripting experience

• Basic Python scripting skills

• Upper-intermediate English level or higher + fluent Slovak language skills for clear and effective communication

• Willingness to build team spirit and work in the office in the center of Bratislava at least 2 days a week

Personal skills:

• Strong English communication skills

• Able to work independently and proactively

• Comfortable writing test specifications and driving test development

• Hands-on, structured, and detail-oriented when working with embedded electronics

The salary starts from 3000 Euro gross. The final salary depends on the previous experience and professional knowledge of the candidate.
