Responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of the DI water treatment system to ensure stable facility operations and support manufacturing processes in terms of quality, reliability, and safety.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Design, commission, operate, and optimize DI water treatment systems, including RO, IX, EDI, UF, and wastewater treatment systems.
• Monitor water quality parameters such as resistivity, TOC, silica, turbidity, particle levels, and pH to ensure system performance meets operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot system issues such as scaling, fouling, membrane performance degradation, and resin exhaustion.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility systems.
• Conduct system performance testing, validation, and prepare SOPs, maintenance procedures, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with production, process engineering, quality teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth facility operations.
• Support facility improvement projects, capacity expansion, and system upgrades.
• Train and guide technicians/operators on system operation, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with EHS standards, ISO 14001 requirements, and 5S practices.
Education & Experience
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Water treatment systems in Electronic/ Semiconductor companies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Skills
• Able to troubleshoot, operation, maintenance and provides the training on Water Treatment systems. Especially for strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
Working Conditions
• Works in standard office/manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
• Strong knowledge of: (1) Ion exchange theory; (2) Membrane technology; (3) Water chemistry; (4) PLC/SCADA systems (preferred)
• Design, commission, and optimize DI water treatment systems including RO, IX, EDI, UF and wastewater treatment (chemical/biology).
• Monitor water quality parameters such as particle, resistivity, TOC, silica, turbidity, and pH.
• Troubleshoot system failures, scaling, fouling, resin exhaustion, and membrane performance issues.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Conduct performance testing and system validation.
• Prepare SOPs, maintenance manuals, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with operations, production, and quality teams.
• Support capital projects, system upgrades, and expansions.
• Train operators and technicians on system operation and safety.
Safety Requirements
Familiarity with industrial safety and environmental regulations.
