Senior Member of Technical Staff - Virtualization

Team Overview: We are responsible for building one of the lowest layers of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure stack: Virtual Machines. The Virtual Machine Data Plane team is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the virtualization stack that supports running customer virtual machines. Our hypervisors run across different CPU architectures and virtualize underlying hardware capabilities like CPU, GPU, NVMe with near-bare metal performance. We are continually pushing the boundaries of virtualization technology to achieve our mission of offering customers highly-performant, always-available, and elastic virtual machines.

Role Summary: As a Member of Technical Staff, you will be responsible for leading software development efforts for significant features in Oracle Compute's service offerings. The role requires a blend of hands-on engineering expertise and leadership skills, focusing on building and operating large-scale, highly available cloud services. The ideal candidate will mentor team members, drive high-priority programs, and contribute to the evolution of standard practices within the software engineering division.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
