Senior Software Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team full-time in Poland.

About the role:

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be part of a cross-functional team with full ownership of the product and codebase. You will participate in all stages of the development lifecycle - from ideation and design to architecture, implementation, deployment, and maintenance. This project enhances trust and transparency on a global consumer review platform by detecting and preventing fraudulent activities, such as fake reviews, and ensuring policy compliance through AI, data analysis, and scalable fraud detection systems.

Responsibilities:

• System Architecture: Design and implement scalable backend services and high-volume data processing solutions for fraud detection

• Technical Leadership: Drive the technical direction of the team through the adoption of best practices, tooling, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Development: Use TypeScript and Node.js to build secure, distributed cloud services

• Backend Excellence: Focus on backend stability and scalability while troubleshooting complex issues across the entire stack

• Mentorship: Support, coach, and inspire the team, sharing your technical expertise to promote a culture of innovation

• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, ensuring high performance of relational and NoSQL databases

Requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a deep focus and passion for backend engineering

• Core Stack: Extensive, hands-on expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js

• Cloud & Infrastructure: Proven experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB) and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation

• Architecture: Strong experience implementing event-driven and microservice architectures using the Serverless Framework

• Data: Proficiency with PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases

• DevOps: Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker and an understanding of orchestration (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions

• Mindset: A customer-centric, solution-oriented mindset with a bias for action and a passion for technical excellence

• Communication: Upper-intermediate or higher level of English for effective team collaboration

Desirable:

• Emerging Tech: Experience integrating AI/ML models or working with LLMs and Generative AI in a backend context

• GCP Ecosystem: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services, specifically BigQuery and Pub/Sub

• Frontend Tools: Experience with React, Next.js
