What you'll do

• Design, develop and enhance high-performance trading applications using modern C++ (C++17 or later), ensuring scalability and reliability in real-time environments

• Build and maintain services deployed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and AWS, ensuring resilience under high-volume trading conditions

• Collaborate with global engineering and product teams to define requirements and deliver scalable distributed system solutions

• Apply software engineering best practices including design patterns, efficient data structures, and performance optimisation techniques

• Produce clean, testable and maintainable code supported by code reviews and automated testing frameworks

• Support production deployments across single-tenant and multi-tenant environments, ensuring system stability and performance

• Contribute to architectural direction and continuous improvement of development standards, tooling and platform capabilities

What we're looking for

• Demonstrable experience with modern C++ (C++17 or later), including strong knowledge of STL, templates and memory management

• Proven experience working in Linux/Unix environments with a focus on multithreading and performance optimisation

• Strong understanding of distributed systems design, software architecture and engineering best practices

• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server or MySQL/MariaDB

• Familiarity with cloud-based environments, particularly AWS, and service-based architectures

• Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate effectively within global, cross-functional teams

• Experience in financial services or other low-latency, high-performance environments is highly beneficial

• Exposure to Java or frontend technologies such as Angular or Ext JS is advantageous

• Understanding of securities finance, stock borrow loan or repo products is beneficial but not essential
