Job Description
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve visibility, accuracy, and management of Accounts Payable (AP) and disbursements across Atlas, the AP Operations Analyst strengthens financial oversight by ensuring we have better tracking of outstanding payables, cash disbursements, and payment obligations — especially related to subcontractors and pay-when-paid (PWP) commitments.
Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, the AP Operations Analyst serves as a liaison between Accounting, Financial Operations (Fin Ops), and FP&A within the F&A structure, providing critical communication and alignment across teams. The role’s scope has been expanded to lead the development of next-generation reporting and AI-enabled analysis tools that support cash management decision-making across the business.
Core Responsibilities
• PWP Monitoring & Coordination — Track pay-when-paid (PWP) cash receipts and ensure corresponding disbursements are properly accounted for in cash forecasts.
• Cash Flow Forecasting Support — Work closely with F&A and Operations to provide forward-looking visibility into upcoming AP obligations, helping prevent unexpected cash flow issues.
• AR & AP Alignment — Collaborate with all members of Fin Ops to capture real-time updates on outstanding receivables that impact payment schedules.
• System & Process Standardization — Establish consistent processes across Atlas to improve AP reporting, reduce errors, and enhance data visibility.
• Reporting & AI-Enabled Analytics — Develop reporting tools to support key stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership, including the design and deployment of potential AI applications in support of cash management analysis, payables intelligence, and disbursement forecasting.
• Communication & Escalation — Serve as the main point of contact for AP-related inquiries and ensure that any financial concerns are escalated proactively rather than reactively.
You’ll thrive here if you have
• Organization — Maintain a highly organized workflow to manage the complexities of AP and disbursements.
• Strong Communication Skills — Effectively communicate with senior Atlas leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and quick resolution of issues.
• Leadership & Presentation Skills — Comfort leading discussions and presenting updates in front of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and other key stakeholders.
• Cash Flow & Systems Understanding — A solid grasp of cash flow management and Atlas’ financial systems to drive better decision-making.
• Reporting & AI Aptitude — Curiosity and capability to build reporting tools and apply emerging AI / automation technologies to financial analysis and cash management workflows.
• Resilient Personality — Ability to perform effectively in demanding circumstances.
• Advanced Excel Skills — Expertise in Excel to manage large data sets, build financial models, and provide insightful analysis.
