Job/Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Model-Based Design Engineer to join our E-Powertrain department. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of advanced electric powertrain systems by creating, simulating, and validating models that support design, control, and optimization activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dynamic models of electric powertrain components (motors, inverters, batteries, transmissions).

• Design and implement control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools.

• Perform system-level simulations to evaluate performance, efficiency, and safety.

• Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software) to ensure integration of models into product development.

• Document modeling methodologies, assumptions, and validation results.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of modeling standards and workflows.

Qualifications

• Engineer’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.

• Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design methodologies.

• Experience with electric powertrain systems (motors, batteries, inverters).

• Knowledge of control theory, embedded systems, and simulation techniques.

• Familiarity with HIL/SIL testing environments.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in automotive or e-mobility industry.

• Experience with simulation of dynamic systems in MATLAB/Simulink or similar toolsets.

• Knowledge of electrified powertrain systems and high voltage battery systems.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams on a remote basis.

• Knowledge of classic control theory.

• Familiarity with optimization techniques and system-level trade-off analysis.

• Exposure to real-time simulation platforms (dSPACE ).
