We are looking for an exceptional Senior Engineering Manager with a strong background in modern frontend technologies. In this role, you will lead and inspire a talented team of frontend engineers, setting the technical direction and ensuring the delivery of elegant, high-performance, and scalable products. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the frontend strategy and architecture, while also collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver impactful features and meet key product metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Own and define frontend strategy, architecture, and delivery for core product areas and shared UI systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 10+ frontend engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability across all frontend teams.
  • Drive performance, accessibility, security, and reliability in the UI, ensuring measurable outcomes and a seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-impact features and own key product metrics.
  • Maintain and evolve the frontend roadmap and design system, ensuring consistency, reuse, and scalability across projects.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop top talent, managing succession planning and career growth within the frontend team.
  • Champion continuous improvement in processes and tooling, providing hands-on technical guidance when required.
  • Align cross-functionally with other departments, leading through ambiguity, and resolving conflicts to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Ship complex, accessible, cross-browser applications with measurable impact, demonstrating operational excellence in all aspects of software development.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years of leading high-performing teams of 10+ engineers across multiple squads.
  • Proven ability to hire, build, and retain a diverse and talented team, with a track record of driving inclusive hiring practices and effective onboarding.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including setting a clear vision and goals, conducting quality 1:1s, providing actionable feedback, and managing performance.
  • Experience in career development and succession planning, creating clear pathways for growth and raising the bar on execution excellence.
  • Ability to align and collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, backend, and cloud operations teams, leading through ambiguity and resolving conflicts.
  • A track record of shipping complex, accessible, cross-browser applications with measurable impact, demonstrating a deep understanding of frontend technologies.
  • Operational excellence in planning, estimation, delivery, incident response, and postmortems, ensuring smooth and efficient software development processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven track record of building strong relationships and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical background in React.js, Angular, TypeScript, and modern UI frameworks/tools, with a deep understanding of frontend architecture and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience in state management (Redux/Zustand/Context), build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel, ESLint), CI/CD for frontends, and test practices (Jest/RTL/Cypress).
