We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior System Administrator to serve as the primary IT Site Lead onsite 5 days a week for our Reston, Virginia office. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of onsite IT infrastructure, local and wide area networking, collaboration systems, and executive support, while acting as the single point of accountability for IT operations at the Reston site.
In this position, you will contribute across multiple areas of IT operations, providing comprehensive support in a dynamic and collaborative setting. This role offers meaningful opportunities to expand technical capabilities while directly supporting organizational objectives and service delivery.
Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Ownership
• Act as the IT Site Lead for the Reston office, owning all local IT operations and end-user experience.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for onsite IT issues, vendors, and critical incidents.
• Partner with global IT teams to align local operations with enterprise standards and initiatives.
• Provide white-glove IT support to executives and senior stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with business leaders, facilities, security, and vendors.
Network & Infrastructure Management
• Manage and support LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi infrastructure with a focus on availability and security.
• Troubleshoot network issues involving switches, access points, and WAN links.
• Monitor onsite infrastructure and connectivity and proactively address risks.
• Coordinate upgrades and incident response with network and security teams.
Collaboration & Video Conferencing Systems
• Own video conferencing and collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams Rooms.
• Ensure reliable operation of conference rooms and hybrid meeting solutions.
• Coordinate AV installations, upgrades, and support with vendors and facilities.
Endpoint, Identity & Workplace Technologies
• Administer Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager across Windows and MAC
• Administer Azure AD / Entra ID including MFA and Conditional Access.
• Support Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding of users and devices and shipping.
Operations, Governance & Documentation
• Maintain IT asset inventory and onsite hardware logistics.
• Enforce change management, security, and operational best practices.
• Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and runbooks.
• Analyze recurring issues and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in System Administration or Enterprise IT Operations.
• Experience in Microsoft Intune Endpoint Manager, and Azure AD / Entra ID.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and modern collaboration tools.
• Proven ability to support executives and senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
• Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, AVD, or VDI environments.
• Exposure to CyberArk or EPM tools.
• macOS support experience.
• Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Power Automate).
• Relevant Microsoft or ITIL certifications.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Salary Range:
Min $86,000 - Max $118,000 USD per year
Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities. In addition to the base salary, an annual bonus and an equity component are included in the compensation package.
