About the role

Metly ingests vast amounts of unstructured pharma data - regulatory filings, clinical trial documents, SEC reports, conference abstracts, scientific literature. We're looking for an ML engineer to help us extract signal from this noise with precision.

You'll work on the models and pipelines that power Metly's intelligence layer, and have a direct line to how customers experience the product.

What you'll do

• Build and improve NLP pipelines for document classification, entity extraction, and summarisation

• Work on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems that answer complex pharma questions accurately

• Design evaluation frameworks to measure and improve model quality over time

• Collaborate with product and engineering to ship ML features that customers use every day

• Stay close to the latest research and apply it pragmatically where it creates real value

What we're looking for

• Strong background in NLP and working with large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source)

• Experience building production ML pipelines, not just research prototypes

• Comfortable with Python and familiar with tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar

• High bar on accuracy - you understand that in regulated industries, hallucinations aren't acceptable

• Experience with scientific or regulatory documents is a significant plus
